Group Sessions

What to Expect in Your Online Mind-Body Group Sessions

Bring your curiosity and beginner’s mind. Learn and practice mind-body techniques in breathing, movement, guided imagery, and other forms of self-expression, while sharing your experiences with others in a confidential setting. The mind-body practices foster connection, teach mindfulness, and can catalyze a very deep, compassionate form of healing.

Simple as it may sound, mindfulness is a way of being that transforms how we relate to life’s events and experiences. It creates a more open way of existing in the world that, with practice, helps us to be less reactive and generally happier. Meeting in an online group setting offers a powerful and effective way to explore in great detail a variety of healing therapies. The groups are small, usually only 7-10 people, which allows for a deeper level of connection, sharing, and support. We find that the group dynamic creates unique and powerful learning opportunities as we reflect and listen to one another.

What are the goals: In MBHA’s Mind-Body Skills Group, Jason uses a small-group approach as participants learn a range of the most effective tools for self-care and stress management. Jason will teach various mind-body techniques with the goal of alleviating the stress-related components of everyday life. MBHA seeks to create a safe space to teach skills that will improve your full-body wellness, focus, and comfort; increase your physical, spiritual, and emotional wellness; identify your struggles, traumas, and triggers; learn effective coping skills as part of a health-promoting lifestyle; and view challenges as new learning and growth opportunities. There is no advising, diagnosing, or treatment during the sessions. Another goal of our group sessions is to learn how to treat ourselves in a manner that is healing and helpful. The groups are not therapy, but they certainly can be therapeutic.

When does the group meet: The online Mind-Body Skills Group meets on Wednesdays from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM via Zoom. A group session runs for eight weeks and includes a bonus reunion session about 3-6 weeks after the conclusion of the eight-week session. Before committing to the online group, Jason will call you to provide general information about the group, discuss participation guidelines, and answer any questions you may have. The two-hour weekly session provides opportunities for participants to begin to integrate the mind-body skills into their lives, with the group’s support helping them work through any difficulties along the way.
